Uses of Turmeric on Skin

This is a simple poultice recipe that can be used for wide variety of skin disorders ranging from acne psoriasis infection insect bites even skin cancer. Turmeric is particularly effective through its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

Turmeric poultice recipe *WILL STAIN SKIN(temporarily) AND CLOTHES*:
You will need:

  • 1 Tablespoon Dried Turmeric
  • Water to moisten and form a paste (stir well)
  • Apply to clean gauze

In a clean bowl next turmeric and water to form a paste best use of the less water than you think you’ll need to add a little bit at a time until it reaches a consistency which easily absorbs into a clean gauze.

Apply to area affected, 45 min at a time, 3 times per day.

The above poultice is most effective when used three times daily, or can be applied as a nighttime mask.
For this variation you’ll use oil rather than water and avoid the need to clean gauze the mixture will be applied directly to your skin.

TIP: If you take a hot shower before it applying the poultice using a mild soap or moisturizing bar it will help open the pores in your skin and allow better absorption for a greater effect.

If used overnight apply one hour before going to bed applying directly to the skin after taking a shower *optional* gently rub the mixture into the affected area.

In the morning take a shower to remove, the affected area will have a slight yellow tinge from the turmeric. The use of the Wet cloth or cotton ball with isopropyl alcohol can be used to effectively remove the stain. It will also come off on its own in about a week.
